What documents do I need to travel in France ?
You don’t need a visa to enter France if you are staying less than 90 days. You just need your passport. The ETIAS system is not operational yet and they are not accepting applications for travel authorisations at this time. If that changes before the trip, we will be given several months notice and will inform you promptly. The announced price for an ETIAS will be 20€, but again, it is not applicable at this time for this trip. Just your passport !
How do I get to France ?
The price for this tour does not include transportation to and from Toulouse before and after the tour, so you will need to secure your own flights and ground transportation to Toulouse-Blagnac Airport. How much spending money should I bring ?
The price of the tour includes breakfast every morning and one other meal, either lunch or dinner, each day. Tipping at restaurants in France is not expected, but can be offered if you feel the service was particularly good. The amount you should budget for each meal depends entirely on your own dining preferences, but a good rule of thumb for sit-down restaurants would be 20€ for each lunch and 35€ for each dinner. Please remember to check the Dollar to Euro conversion before the trip. The meals you will be responsible for include:

Will I be able to use my credit card/bank card in France ?
Do I need to exchange my money before I arrive ?
Should I purchase traveler’s checks ?
ATMs that will dispense cash from American Visa and Mastercards are easy to find. The fees associated with that will depend entirely on the ATM you use and your individual bank/card. Most places will accept Visa and Mastercard as payment, but you may need cash (Euros) for some smaller establishments, notably small cafes. It is easier (and typically cheaper) to withdrawal Euros from an ATM once you arrive using your Visa or Mastercard rather than exchanging cash at the airport. We don’t recommend purchasing traveler’s checks as they are virtually obsolete in France and you will be very limited in where you can use them and what you can use them on.
Is it a problem if I don’t speak French ?
Not at all ! All tours will be conducted in English and most stores and restaurants will have at least one person that can speak some English. The Google Translate app is a fantastic resource for if you get stuck as it can translate signs using the camera option, you can speak in English and it will translate to French using the microphone option, and you can type in English and have the text translated to French. Becoming familiar with this app will help you immensely if you’re worried.
I’m having trouble with the French on the websites. How can I view these websites in English ?
Most popular browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) have built-in translators that can translate the text on a website. You can typically find those settings easily if they don’t pop up immediately upon opening a website in another language. Google Chrome is our preferred choice and you can translate pages by clicking the 3 dots in the upper right corner and selecting “Translate” from the list.
What do I pack ?
The weather in this part of France in May is typically mild with occasional chances of rain. As with most travel, light layers that can be added and removed are a good option in case the weather turns too hot or cold. An umbrella and comfortable walking shoes would also be wise choices. Our hotels will have laundry options for an additional price, and public laundromats in the cities are also an option.
Am I able to travel solo on this tour, or do I need to have a roommate ?
Pricing for this tour is per person based on double occupancy of each hotel room. You can absolutely come and have your own room, but there will be an additional fee of 690€ to cover the cost of booking additional hotel rooms.
Can kids come on this trip ?
While this trip was planned for adult travellers, there is no age restriction for any of the activities or events. Minors will pay the same price as adults.
Will I be able to eat in France if I have a food allergy ? Will I be able to participate in the group meals ?
Absolutely ! Please indicate while registering for the trip that you have an allergy and our team will take care of the accommodations for the group dinners.
Will members of Doolin be joining us during the tour and activities ?
Yes ! Members of Doolin will be with you for the entire trip, showing you their favorite spots and activities. This is their home, after all, so who better to show you around ?
